I was inspired by a card I saw while surfing through the internet. I tried going back to see who made it, but couldn’t find it. I’d like to give credit, but alas, my brain is not working this week LOL.
I took the white panel, stamped the sentiment, and cut away part of the panel to expose the embossed and inked panel below. I added the green thread for accent and orange marmalade to the edges. I think it makes for a nice masculine card.
I spent Sunday afternoon making the cards I didn’t make the first time around. First off are the cards for day 10 Floral Stamps techniques:
These were very time consuming at first, but after I got the hang of it it went by a lot faster. I stamped the foliage on white card stock, then I arranged them on the colored card stock, die cut the white stamped card stock and fun foam. Glued the card stock on top of the fun foam. Finally, added the assembled letters to the frames and added dimensionals to pop them up. I embellished them with rhinestones and sequins.
For Day 11 – Play Day, I made the note cards. The embossed rectangle is embossed in a color to match the stamp, then stamped another one on top of that and embossed, then emboss the edges of the bigger rectangle. Dry embossed the card bases and embellished them with small hearts.
Finally, this card is not quite like it was shown in the class, I changed it a bit, but basically, it’s a graphic stamp stamped with different colors of distress ink, cut out the bottom, and stamped the greeting with two different stamps. I made a boo boo on the left side, so I just added more bling.

Since I love this stamp so much, I decided to stretch it a bit more (not literally) and use it for one of the last cards I made for this class.
Hey Girl with Sun
For this card, I used my sun stencil with my distressed inks, and also inked the background. I stamped the girl several times, colored all the “ingredients” with alcohol markers, cut all them apart and put her back together again. For the balloons, I only popped up a few . The Hey Girl sentiment was stamped twice then cut apart and used as a new sentiment. I used the two of the three colors I used for the sun. She’s ready to please one lucky girl soon!
Happy Friday everyone!! One more day of stamping and creating! I only managed to create three cards last night. I kept losing my elements on my desk. Every time I would put something down, I could not find it!! I was getting very frustrated so after the third card I had to go to stop! Here are the cards for day 10.
Have a Lovely Day
I began with this card last night. I spent about an hour looking for the appropriate sentiment, and this is all I could find. Then I went back to my desk and I couldn’t find the seahorses, so I cut them out again, heat embossed them with UTEE and let them cool off. I didn’t have any cute fish, but I did have the seahorses die cut from Provo Craft. I stamped the foliage to make it look like seaweed using two different stamps in three different colors. I mounted the front and added the rest of the die cuts to make it look nautical.
Third Page
This was a very different card taught by Kristina Werner. Using printed vellum to create a booklet, I heat embossed the leaves on one page, the flowers on another and the sentiment on top. All the flowers, leaves, and main sentiment were embossed with different colors. The last page is blank to add an inside sentiment.
Hope You’re Swell
Using the same leaves and flowers I used for the last card, I embossed them using only three different colors. on dark card stock. How interesting that using different embossing colors make the stamps so different. This technique was very messy, you have to be very careful to brush off the different colors off otherwise there is a lot of splatter. I think for next time I will pause in between the layers until they are completely dry and brush any random powder off before I attempt to heat it. Lesson learned!
Last night I worked on these cards and it was a very relaxing experience, after I found the stamps I wanted to use. My work space is in an organized chaos – I know where every tiny little leaf, stem, and flower is on that table! It was a Zen time because I really enjoyed putting together the images. Here is the first card:
All these tiny little stamps are from different sets I’ve accumulated throughout the years, so I don’t even know the names or the companies I got them from. It was a challenge cutting out the circle in the middle, but after much diligence, I succeeded. The blessings sentiment is from an older die from Provo Craft. After cutting it out, I also cut out a very thing piece of paper and colored them both with one of the inks I used for the flowers. I attached it with glossy accents.
I used the same leaves from the above card on this one. They look so different when you arrange them in a different order and color them in purple instead of green. I masked the different branches and stamped over them to make it look like they are behind the main branch. The single leaves are from a mosquito stamp. I cut out the wings and they became leaves. I used a kraft like paper and mounted it on black card stock.
I had this small stamp with the sentiment and flowers for a while and I believe it’s from My Sentiments Exactly. I used the same leaves again using white ink, embossed an oval and stamped the greeting in the middle. I also went back and added a different color on the leaves to make them stand out.
This was one of my favorites. I still don’t like the simple cards and I keep mounting the panels on the card base. Same flowers and leaves. The sentiment and the gold on the side was embossed with gold tinsel embossing powder. The background stamp is Heidi Swapp
I really like the way the stamped images turned out with the black outline. I actually found an old Stampin’ Up double stamping set with the flowers, so I used it for three of the flowers then created more flowers with the leaves. I added more sketch lines. The Get Well Soon sentiment is also an oldie from Provo Craft and the Perfect Friend is Unity Stamps. I used specialty stamping paper and is quite sleek and although I tried not to get ink spots on them I did, but added additional flowers and leaves. Problem fixed! Stay tuned for Day 9.
This was difficult!! I searched through my stash and all I could find were outline graphic stamp. I did find an Inkadinkado set that looked similar to what the instructros used. I took “Stamp Carving 101” from Julie Balzer at http://balzerdesigns.com/Classroom/ two years ago and it came in very handy!! I traced the stamps on a big eraser, traced the outside, carved them out, and made a shadow of the stamps! Not perfect, but they’ll work for this particular type of card.
Using a graphic stamp that looked like a daisy, but cut in half, I colored each section with my stamp markers in different colors and rotated the stamp several times until I was done with a circle. When I finished, it reminded me of the Spirograph art I played with when I was younger. The Awesome stamp is Unity Stamp.
I used the same method, but scattered the circles on the panel, added some glitter glue, and added the sentiment. I also used sequins and rhinestones.
Hey Darlin
I arranged this tamp to form a triangle in different colors, added the background paper and some bling. Hey Darlin is Unity Stamp.
You Are Fabulous
These are the stamps I carved myself from the above stamp. I see a few mistakes, but, hey, it’s home made! I added a small strip to the left side, split the panel in three, then went back and put it together, adding dimentionals to the part with the sentiment. I colored the pearls with my alcohol markers to match the inks.
Love You
I cut out a rectangle so I could stamp the sentiment inside. I didn’t have time to carve a rectangle stamp. It was 2:30 in the morning, and I couldn’t make another stamp! There is no square layer, it’s just a cast shadow from the front of the card. I carved the diamond shapes the same way I made the larger stamps. I love this color combination. I also added sequins and pearls. I used silver embossing powder on the sentiment. It’s from a baby set from Unity Stamps.
I had so much fun making these cards! I’m not so crazy about the drops of ink on the watercolor paper. They ran too much, but I did color the girl with distress inks. I added the paper pieced hearts for an extra touch!
Even though this card took a little bit more time I paper pieced the girl’s dress, hair and bow. I added perfect pearls on the balloons, dress and a few on the greeting. The background and the balloons were colored with distress inks and a blender pen. I used Unity Stamps on both cards.
This was a lot of work. Using the alpha stamps to create the greeting after coloring the watercolor paper. The background is an embossing folder that I thought was appropriate for the greeting!
Sending Love
One of my favorite cards! I used one of Unity Stamps girls, colored her with colored pencils, added some gloss the the purse, umbrella, and boots, then made it look like it was raining words and hears. I was supposed to create the sentiment using the alphas also, but II couldn’t get it lined up correctly and then I lost two letters. I was tired of trying to line up all the teeny, tiny letters, so I just used another Unity Stamps sentiment.
You are Perfect & Kind
I had fun with this card. I embossed the background stamp, blended distress inks, then die cut an oval, stamped and embossed the sentiment I created, and added a few sequins and a pearl heart.
Celebrate Everyday Things
This was a very pretty technique Jennifer McGuire showed us, but I didn’t have the glitter embossing powder. I used my regular markers and added clear embossing powder. I didn’t do the accordion on the bottom because the stamps turned out to be too big and if I had made the accordion, the sentiment would have been lost. I just opted to add a gold piece of card stock and used dimensionals to put up the frame.
Thinking of You
I don’t know if you can tell I made an embossing folder with the flower, but it doesn’t show very well. It was watercolor paper so it didn’t get imprinted well. The flowers were watercolored.
Perfect Friend
This card was created by paper piecing the stamp with different papers. I don’t think tulips have that kind of leaves, but I added them and the stemp and colored with Prisma colored pencils. I also colored the small drops with my alcohol markers to match the flowers.
Hey Girl
For this tag, stamped and embossed the flower and then applied distress inks. Both the flower and the sentiment are Unity Stamps.
Hey Girl2
This tag was created by stamping the flower and leaves with black archival ink, then coloring with alcohol markers. I mostly used Dick Blick markers, then added a few white dots with my white paint marker.
Thinking of You
I used cherry veneer wood instead of balsa wood on this card. I die cut the rectangle, then embossed the flowers, added a trinket, and die cut the I’m Thinking of You. The white background paper has splatters of gold.
Sorry for your loss
This was an interesting technique. After applying the distress ink, you take off some of the ink in the petals to make it look subtle. It is very subtle.
I got a little behind making the cards for day three, but I rushed a bit this afternoon to finish them up.
I took the Tim Holtz Caged Bird and stamped the word sing all over then I used a feather stencil and used two different colors for it. The Sentiment is from Unity Stamps.
I stamped baby girl on the die cut heart in a very light pink then using a stencil, I molding paste and spray some pink ink on it. The sentiment, “a new baby to love” is Unity Stamps.
For this card, I first arranged my alphabet stamps to spell out “Reach For The Stars” then added more letters in lighter ink then I used a bit of watercolor on the top. The arrow is wood with enamel gloss on top.
Using a stencil I made myself, I typed the words “you are so kind” tinside the stencil area then inked around it. Nice technique – I’m going to use it more often.
This was a scary task. I cut apart the word “Beautiful” and used it for the beginning of the sentence. I cut out some stars with a die and used enamel dots on some and on the star next to the title, I added a rhinestone to make it different from the rest.
