Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I hope you are having an awesome October with all the weather changes and the beautiful colors all around.

Since I am a Breast Cancer survival I’m always looking for ideas to make paper projects to share my support for my “Warrior Sisters,”especially in October.

I looked at the Bewitched Boutique SVG Kit from the SVG Attic and I though of my BC Awareness stamp by Unity Stamps “Kick Cancer’s Butt.” I had some left over paper from another project and translated my thoughts into creating this kit.

As you can see they can be presented as a set, or individually.  The Boot is hollow inside so it can be filled with cookies, candies, or even tea bags, chocolates, etc.

On the card, I added the tag to the top and a BC Awareness ribbon on the toe.  Here are some close ups:

I used pearls for the buttons.

I added a ribbon with roses and pearls to the boot to make it look more Victorian.

The front of the boot has very thin ribbon because the holes are very small, but they can be enlarged with your crop-a-dial and use wider ribbon.

I also used the witches hat, but converted it to a favor box.  This box can also be hung with a ribbon or twine and placed as a center piece on the table.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what other projects can be created with this SVG kit and think about other occasions you can use it just by changing your paper and embellishments.

Have a wonderful week and see you in November where I will post another idea for your table decorations.

Scarecrow and Acorns

I created this scarecrow card using the Anchors Aweigh step card from All at Sea SVG file.  I resized the corn and the pumpkin from the Autumn Splendor Gift Bag as well as the scarecrow from the new Fall Ensemble SVG file.  The background for the card was created by using a sunrise stencil and adding distress inks.  The pumpkin closes up nicely so it can go in the envelope provided.

I’ve been admiring the die cut inlaid cards I’ve been seeing on different blogs so I created my own using my electronic cutter instead of dies.  I used the Harvest Blessings Card Kit.  From the Autumn Treasures card, from the same kit, I cut out the yellow layer then the sentiment in a green color then inlaid it on the negative cut out.  The leaves are from the same kit and the Four Acorns Card.  I embossed the acorns to give them a more realistic look.

These are just two ideas for using different kits and putting them together so you can make them your own creations.

Autumn Splendor SVG

Fall is one of my favorite seasons because of all the colors, the weather, and the longer days.

I used an 11×14 canvas, covered it with DCWV designer paper, then applied acrylic colors, modeling paste using my favorite stencils,  ink sprays, and colored pencils  The flowers and leaves were cut out of music paper then sprayed with different shimmering inks.  I scrunched them and applied all the layers on top of a flower pot I cut myself and embellished with different spray inks, stamps and modeling paste.

In addition, when I saw the Aged To Perfection Svg File, I knew I had to make it. It’s not a Fall project, but you can change it around to fit the season or occasion.

Last summer, I went to visit my daughter in California and she took me to a small town called, Murphy.  It’s a quaint little town with lots of wine tasting rooms.  We had so much fun!

I created a mixed media page using Faber-Castell gelatos, molding paste, stencils, and lots of texture.  I used a couple of Unity Stamps Company stamps and matted the picture on cork paper.

Please stop by the SVG Attic’s  blog and take a look at my introduction and project then jump over to the store and get this file and make your own project!

Happy scrapping!!

World Card Making Day

I was so inspired by all the cards I’ve seeing on the Internet today, so I decided to make one myself.  The base of the card is Cor’dinations cardstock embossed then filed down to expose the core.  The two layers of paper below the burlap panel are DCWV as well as the burlap.  The stamps I used are Thanksgiving new stamps.

You can find them here:   http://unitystampco.com/shop/thanks-giving/

I first embossed the leaf and applied different colors of embossing powder, then cut it out and added a red heart with glossy accents on top.  I love fall and this is the first project I share this season!

HelloFall

Happy Fall y’all and there’s more to come.  I have some exciting news to share with you, but you’ll just have to wait until Friday, October, 10!
